my best Halloweens

happy halloween everyone!!

did ya'll see my snapchats from the weekend? we went to a halloween carnival with my nieces and nephews and it was so much fun. we go every year. there always do canoes in the big swimming pool at the carnival and hang netting to make it look like a swamp and i was so terrified that i would fall out!

i was thinking g about when my best halloween was. i've had some good ones in my time. two years ago i wrote about my best halloween memory so i am not going to repeat myself, but instead share some other great halloweens.

this halloween above is when i was serena vanderwoodsen in my sophomore year of college. that was really fun mostly because i loved my dress. it was some dress i found in my other closet buried in the back at my parents house. it was a dress i wore when i was a lot younger so i barely fit into it. but oh how i loved that dress.

this one was hilarious. this was when k was a junior in college and my roommate in the picture was a dance teacher at a high school. she got those tips from the school costume closet and we said we were... synchronized figure skaters or something? we didn't really come up with what we were, we just wanted to wear those tops.

we went to a big dance in a barn and were acting like total idiots running around the place and acting absolutely crazy. i think that was mg favorite halloween because we both had no inhibitions and were both mourning our separate breakups and i think that was one of the only times in getting over that terrible period in life that i really did not care what people thought and i wasn't trying to get any guy to notice me, i just completely let loose and danced the night away and that still to this day is one the funnest nights of my life.

what was your best halloween?  maybe it will be tonight!

allow me to reintroduce myself

i think it's been a while since i have really introduced myself or talked about myself. and i have gained a few more followers and we all like talking about ourselves, so here we go.

  • i live in salt lake city, utah and have for 7 years.
  • i don't like sports
  • i have never had a sip of coffee or alcohol in my life
  •  i'm mormon
  • i don't like cheese (cue gasp)
  • i have no boundaries and if i see a social boundary i almost always cross it
  • i love trashy magazines and celebrity gossip
  • i used to love  guns and target shooting until guns started to ruin this nation and take so many lives
  • i like politics but refuse to talk about it on my blog or social media because then i am just playing with fire
  • if i could go to one place in the world i'd go to greece
  • i've totaled 3 cars i have 6 speeding tickets and a collision ticket, my license has been taken away once
  • i believe all people should be treated with respect, love and kindness no matter what their beliefs or behavior
  • my first instinct and need in life is to protect others, resulting in me being a 9-1-1 dispatcher for a disastrous 2 months that i still don't want to talk about
  • i'm not an adventurous eater, like with squid or oysters or anything i can't pronounce or don't know what it is.
  • and my best friend is patrisha and she just moved up here and has been by my side for a decade and is my original other half before my husband taran came along.

i got married february 8, 2014.  i could say all the cheezy phrases about how i married my prince, the man of my dreams, he is my other half, my soulmate and i am the luckiest and i can't believe i got him, and that's all true.  so to spare you from vomiting, i'll stop, other than say taran is a biomedical engineer who is without a doubt the smartest man i know.  he is always studying, always learning, always inventing something.  his brain never stops and he ceases to amaze me.  you can read our love story, our proposal story, see our engagement photos, and read the many installments i wrote about our wedding day. the last link is a true real life feelings about what really happens on your wedding day.  no shame.  you freaked out on your wedding day and nearly called off the wedding?  it happens.  including to me.

i grew up in a small town in the very, very southwest corner of utah, a town called saint george.  it is the desert down there, never snows and gets to be 120 in the summer, particularly in august.

the best way to beat the heat was to go to the lake.  my dad got a boat when i was 14 and it has been worn down and then some!

every saturday in the summer you could find us at the lake, all day, tubing, skiing and cliff jumping.

growing up i was a professional performer but most of all, dancer.  it was my life and i danced on average 30 hours a week, depending on the season.  i often did 3 shows at once.  there is a nationally known outdoor theater (why someone decided it was a good idea to put a theater outside in the summer in saint george is beyond me) that i performed at three times.  twice doing their high school summer intensive (learning a show in six weeks, split cast so we had to learn two parts) and then doing "the big stage" aka the outdoor stage once, learning two full shows in eight weeks (le miserables and the sound of music.)

some of the girls and i during le miserables.  i think that is a show every performer needs to do in their career.

i did little women in high school where i was meg. that was one of my favorite shows.

my major in college was mass communications, like video production and writing and things that make the onion make fun of our degree because it is so easy to get but let me tell you there is no shortage of jobs that come from this degree!  i have managed 20 social media accounts for an online university, handled all communications and media at a chamber of commerce, coded and updated websites, done graphic design, written articles for an online magazine, managed a company's intranet and wrote human interest stories for said company, managed social media for a mall, coded and sent and built and managed email marketing campaigns and now handle social media once again.  it might be an easy major, but it isn't always an easy job!

my senior year of college, i did a study abroad in london for six weeks studying theater.  it was one of the best times of my life.  it was  so much fun and essentially i just spent six weeks playing around london with people i'm still friends with to this day.

during my sophomore year of college, i decided i wanted to be a tv comedy writer, so the fall after i got back from london, i moved to LA to be an intern at two production companies for a semester.  that was another of the best times of my life.  i still hope to be a comedy writer someday and still write.  it's a dream i haven't given up on but is definitely in the back seat, which is fine by me.

i originally went to a very small university that was only an hour away from home for my freshman year of college because i was a severe home body and was terrified to move out.  once i grew some legs, i transferred to the university of utah and finished college there. i LOVED college.  the homework, not so much, but it was one of the best times of my life, all 3 years of it (freshman year was not so good.)  i will always cherish my college memories. and hey!  i met taran at college!

i have 3 older sisters and no brothers, unless you count our foreign exchange student from spain, jon, which we do.  he is coming home for christmas!  we can't wait to see him.  its been 5 years!

all my sisters and i are married and there are 8 grandchildren between all of us with two on the way.  taran and i have no children.  one sister lives in palo alto with her husband doing a health care fellowship at stanford, one sister lives in gilbert, arizona while her husband gets some masters degree i don't understand at ASU, and another sister lives 20 minutes from me and her husband is a lawyer.  my parents still live in the house we grew up in in saint george but are trying to sell it and downsize.  my dad is a semi-retired otorhinolaryngologist (haahaha even when i was in elementary school kids would make me say that over and over again because it sounded so funny and they got the biggest kick out of it.  and i love using the "medical" term for the kind of doctor my dad is just to stump people.  i find it highly amusing.) aka ear, nose and throat doc.  he sold his practice shortly before i got married, so nearly 3 years ago and he doesn't do surgery anymore.  he only works 3 days a week and bought a plane in 2011 with 4 other people as well as got his pilot's license.  he and my mom spend weekends flying over the grand canyon just for fun or making impromptu trips to arizona or palo alto in the plane because they can.  my dad also is lead guitarist in a rock band he started when i was 10.  yeah.  my dad is cool.  i wrote all about it and how funny some of the things people say when they learn i'm a doctor's daughter.  my parents also have the most romantic love story as my mom was a nurse and my dad was in his internship when they met.

i don't read books that much and i hate that about myself, and spend my free time watching tv because hello, its research, i'm a tv writer.  learn all about how a tv show gets made part i and part ii and also my recommendations for this season's new shows. get me talking about tv and i won't stop.

now tell me about you!

what i hope people receive from me

thank you alyssa for a blogger challenge becuase i have been looking for one for a while.

what i hope people receive from me.... well that sure ain't sickness.

i really do try my best to make people feel comfortable and happy and loved when they are around me.  never does a day go by that i don't ask myself "how have i helped someone today?" like this instagram.

A video posted by The LDS Church (@ldschurch) on

i really do try to improve someone's day.  because we all need an angel.  and what better way to get an angel in your life than to be one for someone else?

i found this quote a long time ago and think of it often.  kindness is something you can never overdo.  its something that you can never run out of.  the world needs more kindness.  it needs more love.  even when i'm in a bad mood, i try to stop and pause and hold an elevator or smile at someone.  even if i am really in a bad mood i do try to stop and be kind.  working where i work i want to be kind to everyone, i am an example of my organization.  but not only that, i want to be a kind person.

so what i hope people receive from me?

bing bang boom.

fall tv: what to watch, what to skip part iii

okay here we go.  i can procrastinate no longer. i've had a hard time making this list so here is my best shot at it.  because i am sure my opinion weighs heavily in your tv watching decisions.  so! welcome to the third and final installment of fall tv: what to watch, what to skip!  catch up on part i, new shows: what to watch, and part ii, shows already on the air that you need to watch.  and let me remind you shows are ordered in 3, 6, 13, and 21-25.  sometimes there is a 16 in there (like when the mysteries of laura was so wrongfully canceled at episode 16 of season 2!!) also, brush up on your knowledge of how a tv series becomes a tv series.

designated survivor.  i really wanted to like this show because maggie q is in it and nikita is one of my very favorite shows, honestly because it has a bad ass female lead, but i can't get behind it.  i think my problem with it is the main character.  for someone who is president, he isn't much of a baller.  i think that's the show's point, a hero not born to rise and all that, but in the first episode, they should have convinced us that he had something to bring to the table.  i know that he didn't sign up for it, but he should have some confidence.  if he doesn't buy it, we don't buy it.  maybe i should give it another try?  but oh, nope, i don't want to.

the verdict:  hmmmmm... i don't know.  i think..... this is tricky.  keifer sutherland carries heavy weight.  a season.  maybe.  probably longer.  yeah.  probably longer.

notorious.  so here is the problem.  i put in a few of these in the "skip" category before i gave them a fair shot.  and then when i was writing this post and i figured i had to give each of these shows at least 7 minutes of my attention (10 for dramas, 5 for comedies) so i gave it another shot. aahh!  this show.  i originally put it in the "don't bother" column because it had so many cliches in the first few minutes of the pilot that i stopped watching and put it in this post without giving it even five minutes worth of my attention.  but then i did give it a fair shot and now i'm on the third episode and that dang show kind of won me over.  i could still do without it so putting it in this category is still justified!  i don't really get the dynamic between the news anchor (piper perabo) and jake gregorian the lawyer (daniel sunjata).  have they just been friends forever?  were they romantically involved? the storyline is very intriguing.  but what happens when this case is solved?  i guess there will just be another crazy client that he brings on her show.

the verdict:  i suspect it will run at least one season.  everyone loves a sexy murder scandal show like this.  but i could live without it.  meh.

americian housewife. i'm sorry.  i can't.  i just can't.  i really couldn't even stomach the first 5 minutes.  you know when you go on a blind date and the guy picks you up and your stomach clenches and your heart sinks and you just know this is going to be one long night?  that was this show.  it was so bad.  it rubbed me in all the wrong ways.  what is with the narration?  and how is this not cookie cutter?  an overweight housewife in suburbia where everyone is "perfect" an she has a semi (what the PC way to say this? special?) daughter? and ew, potty humor in the first few minutes.  i hate potty humor.  and then feminine hygiene humor.  TMI. not my cup of tea. or soda. or any beverage.

the verdict:  cancel!  please, please please cancel!  and i think it will.  i give it 13 episodes at most.  any more than that i will picket in front of abc.

lethal weapon. yet another show that i wrote off too quickly.  when i saw the trailer, i really thought riggs was johnny depp.  doesn't the actor look like johnny depp??  maybe at first glance. so we've got a crazy ex navy seal with a death wish  (riggs) and a by the books cop who is recovering from... something? (murtaugh)  i fully enjoy riggs' character and his disregard for rules and his own life.   and the part in the pilot where he walks in with pizza to the hostage situation was really hilarious.  but! it's just another crime show.  meh. ps.  i LOVE  it that one of the househusbands from desperate housewives is the police captain.  that is a hidden gem i never thought i'd find.

the verdict:  13 episodes.  we all know this is another crime show.  the character of riggs might carry it.  i think it might do okay.  time will tell.  but i'm betting 13.

bull.  what.  even.  is.  this.  i feel like they are trying to redo lie to me but except this doesn't make sense.  bull is some clinical psychologist guy who can guess what a jury will do or won't do and help you win your case?  either that or the cheezy tagline "he'll get you off" was suggesting something else entirely.  i couldn't.  it was too stupid.  and i was so confused and so uninterested while watching.  seriously, what even is this show?? can someone please explain?

the verdict.  6 episodes.  please only 6 episodes.

personal capital has a cool graphic on how much tv stars make. you can track your own net worth with their free networth calculator.   these numbers don't surprise me, especially the salaries of  the big bang theory because they have been doing the show for so long.  these are the salaries that the cast of friends got in season 10.

i have fully enjoyed my review of this season's tv shows and hope you enjoyed reading them as much as i enjoyed writing them!

when a tv writer likes your tweet

ya'll know that i follow comedy writers to a level that borders on stalker.  i know their names, their bios, everything. i follow them on all forms of social media too.  (ps.  i know i owe you guys the last installment of what fall tv to watch - what shows to skip because i am sure you care but i'm having trouble writing it because i'm trying to give all those shows a fair chance!) so the other day i was browsing through twitter when i came across the below tweet from joe mande.  joe wrote for parks and recreation, the kroll show and the good place and acted in brooklyn 99 and modern family.  see?  he's this guy.  the guy at pritchett's closet's who claire has make the kids sandwiches and stuff so she doesn't feel like a bad mother.

so when i saw the below tweet i did what any normal person would do.  i asked what he wanted to be asked.  i tweeted back and said "you should write jokes for the al smith dinner" but spelled "dinner" wrong which given that he liked the tweet made it oh so humiliating.

but guys!  joe made liked my tweet! i'm basically on my way to being a successful comedy writer now.  there's nothing stopping me now.  i squealed and nearly fell over when i saw it.  i screamed to taran "JOE MANDE LIKED MY TWEET!!" and taran knows in these situations to just say "that's great sweetheart!" because he really doesn't care who comedy writers are, he has given up on keeping up on how many i follow and the only comedy writer he cares about is yours truly.  just like i don't care about any other inventions besides ones invented by my husband.  or any bit of science that isn't explained to me by my husband.  we both know who is the saint in this relationship.  taran patiently usually patiently waits while i rewind, pause and then look up the writer each time we watch a sitcom if i don't already know who it is.  it really, really annoying for him.  like i said, saint.  and i'm not talking about kim kardashian's youngest child.

the moral of the story is that a comedy writer who i admire liked my tweet.  and that is all the end.

good music / an announcement

first of all, thank you all so much for your sweet and kind words and thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. i can't tell you how much it means to me.
i have an announcement!  i am performing at the dickens festival in december! the dickens festival is where people dress up in victorian era (is that the right era for charles dickens?) and people come with goods and treats and sell them.  its a so much fun!  when i was in high school, i performed at this festival a few years in a row.  i would do a half hour set on a stage by myself singing Christmas songs and i loved it.  its been a long time since i did it, but i can't wait to get back in the saddle again.  and i am doing a completely new set, so i am really excited! the above picture is when we went last year.
i am also so really excited for the festival of trees!  i wanted to perform there too but i waited too long and now they are all full up so im on the waiting list.
some really good music came out this week!  sia and lady gaga!  i have been listening to sia but haven't listened to lady gaga yet, but i've heard her singles and loved them.

because we are saving for our trip to NYC, we dont want to spend money on costumes so i am just going to wear a black dress and funky tights and a hat because it's cheap and yes it's overdone but i don't care. what are you going as at halloween? i can't wait to halloween! its one of my favorites!

this post is hard for me to write, but i process things best by writing.

my grandma passed away yesterday.  i'm sad but also at peace.  she had been really struggling for a while and i'm glad she is at peace and with my grandpa again.

my mom called me as i drove to work yesterday and told me the news. its funny how grief works.  it takes a second for it to sink in, and then odd things happen.  when i walked into my office building, i was on the phone with taran telling him what happened.  a big meeting had just gotten out from the lobby auditorium and it was loud and i got really annoyed.  then when i got to my door that takes me to my floor, there were people blocking the way and even after they swiped their badge still didn't open the door.  i said excuse me and they let me through and proceed to get into an elevator that was going down, not up.  by this point i was really, really angry.  people were talking loudly.  i felt like screaming and crying at the same time.

and then i did the oddest thing.  i left work and the only thing i could think to do was to go to starbucks.

i don't drink coffee.  i've never had a sip of coffee in my life.  the only time i go to starbucks is... well. literally never.  if i'm at the airport maybe and want a scone? but i associate the smell of coffee with my grandma and i desperately wanted to feel her near.  my mom is from detroit and my grandparents moved here only a few years ago.  growing up, they would come for Christmas and stay until march to get out of the michigain cold because i'm front the desert.  for the first few weeks they would stay with us and then the rest of the time they would rent a condo.  but those mornings when they were with us, i would come to the kitchen for breakfast before school and my grandma would be in her pink robe and slippers, brewing coffee.  we had this mug that she used everytime, a big red one with a white heart on it.  and i would come to the kitchen and see that folger's bag and it was one of the most comforting feelings in the world.  to this day, each time i smell of coffee i think of her.

so i just sat there, in starbucks, smelling that coffee smell and not wanting to leave.  i even ordered a coffee just so i could smell it.  never done that before!  i was very proud of myself that i didn't make a fool out of myself because i've watched enough tv to know that it isn't "large" or "small" but its "tall." so i just said "tall coffee please, black." i don't think i needed to say black.  don't you put the sugar or creme or whatever in yourself?  and then i went to open the top to smell it and it tipped over and spilled everywhere.  how am i supposed to smell it now?

grief is weird.  i keep thinking of these little octagon shaped crackers we would make together with this really great seasoning and we would eat them so fast we had to make several batches.   and our inside joke that chocolate was our medicine so we would ask each other if we had our medicine that day and then go to the pantry and get hershey kisses.  and i remember so vividly laying on her chest while she held me tight when i was little and smelling that coffee and perfume smell.

when i was little, she gave my sisters and i these angel pins that we would pin on our pajamas to keep the nightmares away and she said those pins were our guardian angels.  each pin has our birth stones on it.  i remember having a lot of night terrors but after that, once i pinned that angel to my pajamas, i didn't have them so much.  my grandma was a big believer in guardian angels.  she was an amazing woman

i am so blessed to believe in the plan of salvation and that i will see her again and she is going to be my grandma forever.  i miss her so much already. and i hate myself for not going to visit her on sunday like i kept thinking i should.  i kept thinking it but then got distracted and now she's gone.

i don't need that angel pin anymore.  i have the real thing now.  i'm so lucky that i knew her, that she is my grandma and will forever be watching over me.

fall tv: what to watch, what to skip - part ii

hello hello!  picking up where we left off on the last post where i said what new fall tv shows you need to watch (with the exception of a show coming in january) now i'm going to recommend shows that have been on the air for a while that you need to watch! because i have too many opinions.

shows that have been on the air that you need to watch

the only other show i remember being this excited and addicted to was when the blacklist came out. sadly, the second season of the blacklist lost my interest and i replaced my obsession with this show. the premise of this show is about a woman who has no memory of who she is and gets left in a duffel bag in times square covered head to toe in tattoos.   one of the tattoos has the name of an agent at the fbi, so naturally the fbi takes her in.  each of her tattoos is a clue to stopping a catastrophic event from happening.  she doesn't know who did this to her and all she knows is she has fighting skills, can speak other languages and was possibly a navy SEAL.  i love following the clues and the show has gone much, much deeper than just following the clues.  it is my favorite show currently on the air.

this gem premiered in january so it is on season 2 with season 1 consisting of only 13 episodes.  its created by a writer from the office, justin spitzer.  it. is. the. funniest. show. on. the. air.  and you know that i would not throw that title around lightly.  its about a walmart type store and its employees and its hilarious.  every episode i laugh so hard i nearly cry.  there have been no so-so episodes, nothing short of brilliance.  its one of the best comedies i've seen.

greg daniels created the office for american tv.  michael schur wrote on the office.  greg daniels and michael schur created parks and recreation.  dan goor wrote for parks and recreation.  dan goor and michael schur created brooklyn 99.  you with me?  michael schur also created the new show i wrote about in part i of this series, the good place, which i am liking less and less.  brooklyn 99 is a comedy about a...... you guessed it!  a  brooklyn police precinct! i love that they took a cop show and made it funny.  that is such a fresh idea because there are sooo many cop dramas.   if you aren't watching, i don't know what you're doing with you're evenings. what i don't like is they take long breaks because andy samberg is always doing multiple projects at once so their schedule is weird.  they make us wait a long time for episodes! one of the funniest shows on the air. highly, highly recommend.

this show is fresh! its a series of four vignettes, one for each member of the family. its such a unique approach to a family comedy. the characters are fresh and it really is just really hilarious.  what else i love about it is the little kids really shine in this show. normally the child actors just there but not in this show.  they really have personality and one of the little girls is our favorite character.

i have been watching this since my cousin recommended it to me in its first season when i finished watching sherlock.  this is another sherlock show and is nowhere near as good as the british version, but its on every week and it is still really good.  i have realized that i don't watch any other cop show besides this one, because elementary is so smart it really doesn't hold a candle to any of the other cop shows that the other ones bore me.  it has raised my standards.  thanks robert doherty!  all the past seasons are on hulu, thank goodness.  praise to the writers of this show, because the way they go about solving the crimes is really incredible by showing sherlock's brilliance.  and i love that watson is a woman.

what is not to love about this show? tell me a list of your favorite rom coms and i bet aline brosh mckenna was behind them.  she and rachel bloom (the star) are the creators.  song numbers every single episode!  broadway stars on the tiny silver screen (including but not limited to santino fontana!  donna lynne chapman! Tovah Feldshuh!)  the premise of this show is a girl who moves across the country when she runs into her summer camp boyfriend one day on the streets new york and decides that what she needs to be happy is to be with him.  so she moves to his hometown even though that was their first interaction in 10 years. really, what is not to love about this show.  i'm so excited for the second season.   it has gotten the most rave reviews that i have seen since girls but now the cw has moved it to friday?  what?? that makes no sense at all.  but watch!

and the mindy project.  if you aren't watching that show by now, i don't know what to tell you. you must have been very busy.  i am seriously thinking of writing an entire blog post solely on why the mindy project is so original and brilliant, with a lot of excerpts from mindy's book.  in case you actually really honestly don't know the premise of the show, its simply about a doctor who lives in her own unrealistic world and yep, that's pretty much it.

has anyone picked up that i have strong feelings for television?  in case you missed it, here is my break down of how a tv show goes from an idea to the screen.  in extensive detail.  because it is slightly complicated and this is my favorite topic to talk about.

and kenneth because i have to because he says it best....

things that bring me joy

with everything that is going on in the world, i have been trying to focus on the good and things that make me happy.  i feel like we are at the end of days the world is in such bad condition.  it breaks my heart and i don't know what i can do to help.  i guess the only thing i can do is live by that quote that is overused "be the change you want to see in the world."

so in an effort to lift my spirits, i thought it would be fun to list all the times that bring me joy.

fall!  my favorite time of year!  i love alll the fall things.  october is my favorite month and this is the first year that i really feel like i have done it right.  i have gone to gardner village for witchfest and looked at all the decorations and witch costumes.  over the weekend we went to a pumpkin patch and carved our pumpkins.

i got actual halloween decorations from target! big orange bulb lights that we hung in our living room and really adorable a spooky decorative pumpkin! the weather has been turning colder and it makes my heart so happy. plus, outside of work there are tons of trees that are turning fall colors! so beautiful. yay fall!  and i'm so excited to have more halloween decorations than usual!

anytime i come across an adorable neighborhood i just die.  i found this photo in my stock images folder, so i don't know where it is, but i'm thinking san fransisco.  there are some neighborhoods here that are just adorable and they are mostly downtown so i see them as i drive to work.

my nieces and nephews. i love them so much i can't believe it sometimes.  they all have such different personalities. i love wataching them play and grow and learn and answer their kid questions about the sky and tractors and everything else.  i love their imaginations and i love their feistiness.  i love how different they are and it amazes me how prominent personalities are so early on in life.  my sister jessica is pregnant so we are adding another baby in april!  then there will be 9 grandkids in the family!  i love it and can't wait to meet my new niece or nephew.

i am not someone who is good at decorating or at crafts.  but since i got this new desk at work, i have all this space and i wanted to decorate it!  i went to target and got the cutest things and it make my heart so happy.  (isn't that like the 18th time i have said that phrase in this post? haah) the colors for my desk are gold and pink and i painted the big "L" that lights up pink and i painted the chalkboard gold and the white frame pink.  i can't wait to show you all how it looks once everything is on my desk! this is the first time i have ever tried to decorate and succeeded.  i feel so proud.  go me!

my shows!  oh how i love television.  but you all know that.  new episodes of my shows bring me joy.  or finding a new show to binge on.  i have been searching for a show to binge on that will really hook me but have been unsucessful.  anyone have any recommendations? pleeeeeease...

i have been following a ton of golden retrievers instagram accounts and the pictures just make me melt.  they are so so cute!  taran and i wish we could get a puppy, but we don't have the space in our apartment for the pup to run around.  it wouldn't be fair to the dog.  ya'll know i had a golden retriever growing up and that is the dog i want always.  they are the best dogs.  i think my instagram feed is half golden retrievers and half celebrities.  but the tiny little puppies make me soooo happy.

also, of course, blogging makes me happy.  reading blogs make me happy.  this past weekend was just the BEST because it was the perfect combo of getting things done and having fun and relaxing.  on sunday evening i just got to lie in bed and read and it was JOYOUS!! i love reading your blogs, i really do.  if i am too busy to read blogs, then i know life is too busy.

what brings you joy?
