Lot 48: holiday songs

holiday songs

with my dad being a musician, music was such an important part of me growing up.  it was always playing.  constantly, especially at Christmas time.  my dad's favorite Christmas album was the Carpenter's Christmas album.  he was in love with karen's voice and that is the majority of what we listened to leading up to Christmas.  and of course, we would listen to amy grant's classic 1992 album album.  because what is Christmas without that???
i love artists who make their own Christmas songs.  beacuse i am soooo tired of hearing the same songs over and over again this time of year.  so i have compiled a playlist with some of my favorite classic Christmas songs, but also some new songs that i love.
if i had to pick one song that is my absolute favorite Christmas song, it was Christmas waltz by the carpenters.  oftentimes, my dad would take my mom or one of his 4 daughters and dance with one of us to it in the family room.  i loved it.
he would also tell us about the dangers of anorexia and exactly how karen died from said eating disorder.  he has to do his duty as a doctor and dad too, you know.

i wanted to give a huge shoutout to personal creations who sent me this SUPER SUPER cozy pillow!!! it seriously is amazingly cozy and i can't wait to read for hours on it!!
enjoy the playlist, and do me a favor and meet your new best friend lindsay!!

tell us a little bit about what we will find on your blog.  life?  fitness?  recipes?? My blog focuses mostly on beauty, but I dig into life, recipes, and other fun stuff along the way.

if you could have dinner with anyonei n the world, dead or alive, who would it be?  My grandfather passed away in 2012, and having dinner with him one more time would be a dream.  I loved him (and continue to love him) very much.

describe your perfect saturday. My perfect Saturday consists of sleeping in, eating brunch with my boyfriend, and spending the afternoon with my family.  Simple and perfect.

if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? I would love to go to travel to Greece... maybe one day?

if you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be? I would tell my younger self to have more fun, worry less, and relax. I work on all three every day!  It would have been nice to have a head start!

  2. I love Christmas songs so much! I like listening to a mix of the old, classic Christmas songs and the new Christmas songs created by today's artists. I have a lot of the same songs you have on your Spotify playlist on my own Spotify playlist! I've been listening to "Blame It On the Snow" so much. Tiffany Houghton is just so adorable. I also LOVE the Gardiner Sisters! I've been following them on YouTube for so long. They're amazingly talented. So many great songs on here!
