Lot 48: i never thought blogging would....

i never thought blogging would....

i love this prompt from helene and taylor's #blogtober14 challenge because there is so much to say about how blogging has changed my life!!

i never thought blogging would.... help me make new friends from all over the country.  to the left is kristen from miss southern blog and me, and to the right is karen  from a peek at karen's world and me.  it was such a treat to meet these lovely ladies and they are both so sweet and warm and inspiring.

i never thought blogging would..... become more than a hobby but a lifestyle.  i think about blogging so much thorough out my day and checking my blog stats is the first thing i when i get up in the morning.  and checking the stats obsessively every half hour through out the day.  #thestruggleisreal

i never thought blogging would..... make me so happy.  i LOVE blogging.   i love that i have a creative outlet and that i have a space to do whatever i want and write whatever i want, and to use my brain.  this has especially helped during my disability leave and unemployment, i have turned it into a full time job, kind of.   i have such a passion for it and it makes me really happy.  and in these hard days, things that make me happy are few and far between, so relish them when i get them. #blogger4life

i never thought blogging would...... take so much time.  i spend a lot of time brainstorming ideas for posts, and i have a notepad on my phone titled "blog post ideas" for when i get an idea of a post.  even if it is really late and i am half asleep, i sleepily type it in and the next morning i usually can't make sense of it.

i never thought blogging would..... cost so much.  i have spent a TON of money on sponsorships, and i think they are completely worth it.  but i think the most valuable thing to spend money on is giveaways.  that really builds your numbers, but the tricky part is getting those readers to stay.  that is where branding comes in and whenever i am in a giveaway, i pull out my best posts so they new reader will think i'm hilarious and want to be best friends with me.

i never thought i would love to read other's blogs!! i think it stems from our need to read people magazine or us weekly.  all that celebrity gossip, we LOVE it.  and i love hearing about other people's lives.  i absolutely love it.  i spend hours reading other's blogs.  and it is so addicting.  i go through my bloglovin' feed and think "okay, i am going to stop after this post" but then i just keep going and going and going.

i never thought blogging would...... allow me to go to a fashion show!!! jana posted last week about the fashion show going on in provo, 50 miles south of where i live, i asked if i could tag along and since that girl is a SWEETHEART, she said yes!! the fashion show was some of the most fun i have ever had in a long time.  so stay tuned for my FULL recap of the fashion show tomorrow!!

happy monday!! make it a great one!

  1. all of this is so true. I haven't been blogging nearly as long as you, but I feel the same way. All of the new frienships and wanting to see what everyone is doing in their lives: LOVE IT! Do you read All the Joys? Meagan gave some tips on getting extra cash for the blog so you don't have to break the bank! :)

  2. I completely agree with all of this. I never thought blogging would be any of these things either.

And I feel so blessed to have gotten to meet you! I'm so glad we're friends!
