Lot 48: dear mrs. packer....

October 8, 2014

dear mrs. packer....

today i am linking up with helene to write a letter to myself in 10 years as part of her #blogtober14 challenge!!

dear mrs. packer....

i hope you have at least 3 kids and live in a nice house with nice neighbors.  i hope you are the kind of person who is giving and compassionate, and that your friends know that they can come to you with anything.  i hope that your house is the house on the block where all the kids play.  i hope that you were able to finally write an entire spec script and that you are happy with it.  i hope that you did something in LA.  whether you were working as a temp, an assistant or a writer, i hope that you got to go back and live there again and work in the business you love.

i hope that you have at least two daughters.  i know that you are raising them right and i know that you are raising them to have a close relationship with Christ.  i hope you tell yourself you are beautiful, in front of your children, so they know they are beautiful too.  i hope you are teaching them to be true to themselves and to not be peer pressured into changing who they are.

i hope you aren't letting all the success your brilliant husband has made isn't going to your head.  because we both know you are as power hungry as they come and that by the time you are reading this letter, taran has invented a medical device that is saving millions and that you have a lot of money.  don't let that go to your head.  teach your children the value of a dollar.  don't spoil them.  teach them to work hard.  don't buy them whatever they want.  make them work for whatever they want.

i hope you're selfless and give back to your community.  i hope you are always looking for someone to serve, someone's day to make better.

i hope you have had the opportunity to travel.  and that least go to greece and scotland, as those are the two places at the top of you and your hunky husband's bucket list.

i hope you have learned how to have a positive attitude like belinda and how to look at the bright side instead of  the dark, like you tend to do.

i hope you're happy.  i hope your life is everything you imagined it would be.  but knowing you, i'm sure it is.

love,
your younger self
