Lot 48: you know you need to go to the gym when....

June 6, 2014

you know you need to go to the gym when....

i don't care for fitness blogs.  they make me feel bad about myself.  or rather, i choose to let them make me feel bad about myself.  whichever.  but i do like exercise.  i do. i like how i feel after.  accomplished, healthy, fit (even if i really am not) and beautiful (yes, even with my sweaty mess of a self after working out).

as i have mentioned before, my husband and i aren't really into exercise. we aren't outdoorsy and our idea of a date is to NOT do a 5k together

or are we very athletic.......... ;)
the treadmill is great. but i am always afraid this will happen
but regardless, you know you need to work out when....
you can't catch your breath after walking up two flights of stairs
you realize that you have had burgers at least once a day for a week. with ice cream.
your pants start to not fit
i actually just canceled my gym membership.  the gym was cheap but very inconvenient.  you had to pay to park! #downtown problems. so now i have been doing these HIIT videos on youtube which are KILLER.
i would say follow me on my fitness pal. but then you'll just think i'm pathetic.
so! let's feel good about ourselves! exercise! get more energy! live longer! all the stuff!
EXERCISE!!

  1. I had a gym membership {$10 monthly fee}. I went once and confirmed what I already knew, I hated running on treadmills. So I canceled. :)

  2. I really suck at working out. I woke up this morning and told myself "Okay Brianna, today you're going to the gym". Well, I ate a burrito and watched Netflix instead and I'm not even sad about it

  3. Good for you, girl!!! I seriously hate to work out. I don't enjoy it on the way to the gym, while at the gym, or even after I'm done at the gym. ha ;) But I do love how I feel when I just *feel* healthy, so I force myself to get on that freakin' treadmill.

  4. HA! I totally feel you. My bf and I are not that athletic either BUT I try to do food prep (we are both vegetarians) so we at least EAT healthy. We also have a lot of foster dogs so we try to make it to 10k steps a day which is at least something. I'm trying to convince him to join a gym with me. There's one not far (but not walking distance) that would only be $10/month each and if we go 1x a week, it'll be so worth it!

  6. I cancelled my gym membership awhile back too. I just didn't use it enough to justify the cost. Now I'm working out at home or out running in the streets instead of on a treadmill and I think it works better for me.
